PROTECT YOURSELF FROM DIGITAL SURVEILLANCE
PROTECT YOUR PASSWORDS
Using different passwords for different websites is the best way to ensure that you don't fall victim to hackers. Another good tip is to change your passwords every couple of months! Lastly, use password managers! It’s a great way for you to have secure passwords without the worry of forgetting them. Some good recommendations are LastPass and 1Password. You can also write them down in a book or journal and keep it where you feel it’s most secure.
ENCRYPT! ENCRYPT! ENCRYPT!
Encryption is a great way to guarantee your conversations are secure and private. More and more messaging apps are coming with encryption, so instead of just using the one that comes with your phone, look for other options! Our picks would be WhatsApp and Signal. You’ll be surprised just how easily your messages could be hacked or your phone calls could be tapped.
PRIVATE WEB BROWSING
Private browsing is the way to go! You’ll be rest assured that you won’t be leaving any kind of digital footprints wherever you decide to go on the net. These browsers get a bad rep, but they definitely do come in handy. If you want to be anonymous when browsing online, check out Tor!
